Ms. Suno Nishiyama aims to create a system capable of processing food waste anywhere without the need for incineration. In recent years, waste disposal facilities have faced challenges such as aging incinerators and rising maintenance costs. To address this, she developed a standalone composting unit that breaks down food waste using solar power and a proprietary blend of microorganisms, requiring neither external power nor drainage. Ms. Nishiyama says she wants to see waste broken down and turned into a resource on-site, rather than being transported to an incinerator to be burned. What kind of future does she envision?
