Ms. Haruka Kawashima is giving new life to flowers that have nowhere to go. She buys flowers from flower farmers and florists that would otherwise be thrown away because they do not meet the standards for retail flowers due to broken stems or only one flower blooming. Ms. Kawashima processes these flowers into dried flowers. These are used to decorate hotel lobbies and furniture. Ms. Kawashima says she wants to use this initiative as an opportunity to remember the connection between people and nature, and to create a culture where even non-standard flowers can be enjoyed for a long time.
