Mr. Goro Tamaki has created a system to recycle fishing nets scheduled for disposal into new materials. It is said that about 40% of the marine plastic debris discharged from Japan is connected to the fishing industry, with fishing gear, including fishing nets, making up a particularly large proportion of that debris. Therefore, Mr. Tamaki started collecting fishing nets scheduled for disposal from all over the country, cleaned them, and turned them into granular nylon resin. Mr. Tamaki says he wants to create a society where recycling waste is not something special, but is a normal part of everyday life. What kind of future does he envision?
